Socrates (c. 470–399 BCE)
Socrates was a classical Greek philosopher, widely regarded as one of the founding figures of Western philosophy. Unlike many philosophers who wrote extensively, Socrates left no written works—his ideas are primarily known through the dialogues of his student Plato, as well as accounts from Xenophon and later thinkers like Aristotle.
"Virtue is knowledge." — Socrates
"The beauty of the soul is superior to the beauty of the body." — Socrates
"The value of life lies in the pursuit of excellence and virtue, not in the accumulation of wealth and power." — Socrates
